The Files Cabinet add-on will stop working on Apr 12th, 2024 due to a change in Google Drive scopes. This article provides a step-by-step guide to recreate your file cabinet app using an App template and the Awesome Table Connectors add-on.
info You can use Awesome Table Connectors free trial for up to 10 free requests, with up to 10k rows per import.
- Install Awesome Table Connectors.
- Copy the template for your file cabinet app:
- Open the [DOC] Files Cabinet Add-on Migration app.
- Click Copy template.
A copy of the app is displayed. Its source spreadsheet is stored in your Google Drive.
- Import the list of files into the spreadsheet:

Open the spreadsheet linked to the app.
- From the Import Sheet, launch Awesome Table Connector from the Extensions menu.
- Create a new request with the Google Drive connector.
- Select Files & Folders, and add the folder containing the files you want to list as a Filter.
- Change the Limit if you want to list more than 1000 files and folders in your file cabinet, and click Preview & Select columns.
- Select Owners > Display name and Owners > Email address, then Save changes.
- Click Run, and confirm that you want to Overwrite the sample data.
The files from your Google Drive folder are listed in the Import sheet.

Open the spreadsheet linked to the app.
- Once your import is completed, click Schedule refresh to set an automatic refresh of the file list at a predefined interval: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly.
- From the file cabinet app, click on the Refresh app icon.
Your file cabinet app is updated with the list of files and folders contained in the selected Google Drive folder.
info The app developed with Awesome Table Connectors and Apps displays both files and folders, offering more functionality than the Files Cabinet add-on, which only listed files.
