1 - Create a Blank Google Sheets
Open your Google Sheets and select Blank.
2 - Insert data in your spreadsheet
Now you are able to fill in your spreadsheet with some data. For our example, we will insert data classes with information like name, date of release, category, Wikipedia link...
3 - Configure the datasource
Your spreadsheet data must be configured in a very specific way. Otherwise Awesome Table will not work properly.
Please follow the prescribed structure:
- The 1st row is for columns headers
- The 2nd row is used for filters (it allows you to have an advanced search with different filters) and keywords (to change and customize the way your data is displayed)
Here is our datasource example with some filters and keywords
As you can see, there is now a second line available for our future filters and keywords.
4 - Share your spreadsheet publicly
Only people having access to your spreadsheet can see your Awesome Table view.
In this example, we need to make sure that our spreadsheet is shared with "Anyone with the link" so any user can see the table view.
To share your spreadsheet publicly, you need to click on Share (Image A), then Advanced (Image B). Select "Anyone with the link" and choose the sharing mode (edit, comment or view) (Image C).
For our example, we want to share the spreadsheet in view mode only.
