Would it be possible to automaticaly resize the font inside the listbox of CategoryFilter, otherwize (even better !) resize the box itself. That would be usefull for using this filter with complex names (for example chemical product names or for my part classroom names)

What a fabulous job you did with Awesome Table ! Simple an effective, even for beginners.

    Happy 2018

    Hi Lionel,

We are really glad you like our product!

Unfortunately, it is not possible yet to change customize the filter but your can change it by overwriting with CSS. However it requires knowledge in code.

    Welcome

Is there a filter option that would show "all" options selected within a csvFilter column?

I'm designing a catalogue of resources that are available to newcomers in my region (i.e. Scholarships, Awards, Services etc...) and one of my csvFilter columns is for Eligibility.

When someone selects "Canadian" and "Youth" as their filters, it currently only shows them resources that are two for both eligibilities. I want it to continue showing those, and also to show resources that are true of those eligbilities independently. I know I can do this by using categoryFilter, but then users will have to sift through a much larger list of eligibilities to filter as it lists them as "Canadian, Youth, Senior", "Canadian, Youth", "Youth, Senior" etc...

    Best wishes,

    Luay

    Hello,

I understand your request but unfortunately, it is not possible to do that with CSV Filter. I think, the only solution would be to use "categoryFilter".

    Kind regards,

I'm having a blast with this tool.  One thing I can't get to work - a search column that searches all fields.  In your "People Directory" template there's a search box that searches all fields selected in the query.  However, when I do the same thing, the search box searches all fields except for one - the "Description" field which is a field containing sentences of descriptive text.  Here's the table in action:  http://csea.timberlinewebworks.com/member-directory.html  You can see if you do a search on the word "weight" you'll get a result that displays because the word "weight" is in the company name.  However, if you do a search on the word "Protein" you won't get a search result even though the word "Protein" is in the text description field.  Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Andy

    Hi Execs1960,

You just need to {{Description}} in you search column of your template sheet. If you have to add data from a column in your template sheet, you need to use markers.
Here is an article that could be useful.

    Kind regards,
    Thomas

That was too easy.  Thanks Thomas!

    Hi Thomas,

I added a Search column and users the markers as you describe. However, the Search bar is displayed as 'last field' where I want this to be the first field in the row of filters. In the templates this is used, but I can't seem to find how to create this myself.
    Thanks.

Hi - I have columns with TRUE or FALSE entries and I cannot find how to set Filters properly. Using CategoryFilter does not work. Any tip to fix it?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Julie,

You need to select what is the order of your columns you want to display. I suggest you consult this article. It will help you to understand how queries work with Awesome Table.

    Kind regards,
    Thomas

    Hi Giovanni,

It's strange because "CategoryFilter" should work with your data. Normally, you should have only two choices available if you use CategoryFilter.

Would it be possible for you to share your spreadsheet and your Awesome Table at "support@awesome-table.com"?
If you have sensitive data, you can make a copy with similar data. Just make sure you give us access to your data.

    Kind regards,

    Hello

I have been truly impressed by Awesome Tables so far, but fear I might have found a sticking point.
I was always intending to use csvFilters but was dismayed to see that employing them implies AND logic, whereas I was hoping and expecting them to use OR...

Imagine a field for PETS with cat, dog, rat etc how can I search for "cat OR dog"

    With CategoryFilter, I could specify

    cat
    dog
    cat, dog
    cat, rat
    dog, rat

which would be ORed together, but not very elegant (or user-friendly).
Is there a way round this?

    merci d'avance

    Awesome Table

    Hi Dave HUDDART,

It is possible to display one item or another with "csvFilter". If you want to display cat or dog, users just need to select cat or dog in the category.

If they select cat, only cells with cat will be displayed. It will be the same thing if you select only dog in your category. Finally, if they select cat and dog in the category, cells of your spreadsheet with cat and dog in the same cell will be displayed. But only the cells with cat and dog in the same cell.

Indeed it won't be cells with cat or dog if you select cat and dog in the same category. It's the behavior for csvFilter but you can request this feature on our forum: https://awesome-table.uservoice.com/forums/275847-feature-requests.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Giovanni Comino,

Sorry for the delay of the response!

If you still experience this issue, you can share your Awesome Table view and your spreadsheet at "support@awesome-table.com". If you have sensitive data, you can make a copy with similar data. Just make sure you give us access to your data.

    Thanks Thomas

But I absolutely need cats OR dogs. (I have indeed requested it)

Can you suggest any work round? Any other method of combining filters wiith OR logic...?

I have thought about duplicating records, so that for one pet owner there will be a cat record and a dog record. Searching using CategoryFilter, I would then get the cat OR dog subset that I wanted, but the owners with cat AND dog would be duplicated. Might there be a way of merging (deduplicating) such records at display time?

    Regards

    Dave

PS It is not really a pet database!

    Hi Dave Huddart,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to use CategoryFilter in your case without duplicating your record. If you use this filter, your records will be necessary duplicated.

    Kind regards,

    Hello Thomas
Can we filter by multiple keywords (connected by OR) in StringFilter fields?
    Cheers

    Hello,

I noticed that there is no filter allowing the user to select those rows where a certain field contains a specified set of words (e.g. "Select all rows where "Description" contains the word "sweet").

I also realize that if there is not such feature, it is probably for a good reason.

It would be quite useful, though.

    Regards,

    Davide

    Hi David HUDDART,

Indeed it is possible to use multiple filter for the same column of data. If you want to use several data, you need to separate your filters with a little dash "-" (see the screenshot).

    Kind regards,
    Thomas

    Hi David Gatto,

All our available filters are in this article. For the moment there is not a such filter like you described but new features are regularly updated for Awesome Table. So, it might be possible to see this kind of filters available.

You can make this proposal on our forum if you want: https://awesome-table.uservoice.com/forums/275847-feature-requests.

    Kind regards,
    Thomas
