1 - Create a new Google Sheet
Click Google Drive > New > select Google Sheets.
2 - Spreadsheet Structure
To make your Google Sheets datasource compatible with Awesome Table, you need to follow the prescribed structure of having the first two rows set as the following:
- The first row is for columns headers
- The second row you will have filters and parameters (to allow users to filter through your data and to allow you to change the way your data is displayed)
3 - Insert data in your spreadsheet
Now fill your spreadsheet with data. For our example, we will insert dummy classes with information like date, class name, teacher... (get dummy data).
4 - Share your spreadsheet publicly
The only people that have access to your Awesome Table are people that have access your spreadsheet. In this example, we need to make sure that our spreadsheet is shared with "Anyone with the link" so any user will be able to see the table view.
In the next article of this tutorial we will discover Awesome Table web app and create our very first Awesome Table view.
