Try our interactive troubleshooting tool !
In this article you will learn how to create a Google Sheet and how to fill it to display your data on an Awesome Table view.
1 - Creating a new Google Sheet
To create a new Google Sheet you need to go to your Google Drive, click on New and then Google Sheets.
2 - Opening an existing Google Sheet
If your Google Sheet is already created, you can open it by double clicking it or by right clicking it > Open with > Google Sheets.
3 - Filling the spreadsheet
To be able to display information within your Awesome Table view you need to fill your Sheet with your data. To see the structure you should have in your Sheet please read our article on Sheet Configuration.
Please make sure that your sheet name does not contain special characters like & ? or / .
4 - Share your Google Sheet
Use the standard sharing settings available in Google Spreadsheet to share it to:
- specific people,
- everyone in a domain, or
- everyone in the world.
People will not be able to view the gadget content if they don’t have viewer permission on the data displayed within the spreadsheet. If your gadget is on a public website, we recommend to set the sharing settings to "Anyone with the link".
Note: Publishing the spreadsheet on the web is NOT the same as sharing the spreadsheet. If you don't set the sharing right correctly, people won't be able to view the data, even if the spreadsheet is published on the web.
